Sorry if that was asked already I did not read through all of the posts.

I think they might just remove it entirely, I'm not sure.

I will be sure to tell the designers how much you and, it seems, just about everyone loves this future update! Thanks in turn for your positive responses.

This is precisely true. It's not wise to give updates in the early, formative stages, but rather as things get further along. What if some of the cool additions were considered impractical to add simply because they had not been mentioned earlier? You see, it's better to wait, and to provide a more-detailed update.

That question is definitely on my follow-up list, and we'll see what we can find out about that and several other questions asked within this thread.

The difference between complaining and constructive criticism is that suggestive measures are made and offered, as opposed to just pointing out flaws.
Since you asked, this is from another thread, we can take debate there so as not to hijack this thread, my dream suggestion is to allow players to use their own characters as selectable heroes AI controlled, and they play through and unlock regions with your primary, so that I can do one mission with 4 characters at a time. I have a limited time budget, and faster=better as far as I can see. Would it be easier if you could use your own characters as opposed to heroes? I do not think so, as heroes have all unlocked skills available, and your characters only have what they have. But to be able to go through campaigns with 4 characters at a time would help me immensely time-wise. Is this selfish? You bet. Does it block any player from not taking their other characters through one by one? Nope. Everyone can play as they please. Win-Win situation.
As far as cookie cutter builds? That example was specific for brevity's sake. That was only one of several skills that are required to beat down Varesh. Reference Guild Wars Wiki for the needed skills on a per mission basis. They lay it all out for you as to what skills to bring, on a case by case basis. And if you are feeling froggy, deliberately do not take those skills they name. I'll wager you will not succeed. Thus, the game is forcing you into cookie-cutter builds.
I relate this to hard mode because I am thinking that hard mode will be another cookie-cutter build fest. If it turns out that way, I will adapt, and use the builds so that I can succeed. That will mean more time spent for me farming, to buy skills that I need to get the specific skills to beat the missions. That sums it up well, in fact.
Thx!

Is if this will actually allow regular players to acquire a ritualist hero also on that list?

I just hope they don't make bosses even harder... Its bad enough as it is having bosses almost 1 hit kill entire parties without having them actually do it!

This sounds like it will be everything i hoped for when i first heard mention of hard mode....plus more!
Hope the monsters can have a secondary profession. Also would be great if they kite'd about and such, but regardless i can't wait.
Thanks Anet, and thanks for the early info on it Gaile Gray!

Hopefully there won't be like, level 27 lightning hammers. It'll be an interesting experience.
Gaile, will hard mode be basically the same difficulty throughout the entire chapter, or will hard mode also get progressively harder as you advance along a campaign?

So does that mean our lock picks will keep breaking and/or chests exploding for us Unlucky (or Tragic) souls? That would be great.

Ouch, another idea popped into my head: Will any of the Hard missions besides the Faction ones be time-based?

Hmmm...
I wonder if they are going to siphon weapons and stuff from normal Guild Wars and put it into "Hard Mode" to make it seem like there was an incentive or something. Or will it be all new incentives, like new weapons and such...

If I had to guess, I would think it would be based on districts...
Questions to Gaile:
1) How do the new titles (Guardian) effect the Protector titles.
2) Will the lucky/treasure title only determine whether a lock pick is destroyed like when salvaging, not what comes out of the chest?
3) Will henchies reflect the approprite change in levels for hard mode and will they get any new skills?
4) Will hard mode be able to be henched at all?
Thanks...

Does this mean that I cabn finally beat up some monsters again instead of chasing them all the time and see them running and playing around?

I hope it doesn't take the 'hard' out of hard mode by making the AI frolic in the meteors until dead like the old days. Talk about ruining it in a hurry.

Sounds very good, as long as I can switch between normal/easy mode and hard (assuming it will) this sounds very good.
Waiting for the screams of farmers that complain that they can't solo hard mode
Cross fingers at any improvement with the Chapter 1 Henchmen since there re-balancing everything..

Sounds cool, I can't wait to see the new items. Only one thing has me worried though, in Ascalon with level 20's outside on hard mode will we be allowed to have full sized teams or just the 4 man sized ones?

My concern is this: I have 10 charecters. Yes, 10 - one for every class. Getting ONE char to level 3 lightbringer is time consuming enough, but to get all 10 would be an impossible feat (school and work seem to interfere with my game time). I hope they are thinking of a way where those of us who like to play many chars can benifit from the implementation.
Perhaps tie more PvE titles to the account, rather than to each char?????
